Ms. Youngman is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida. For nearly two decades, Melissa has represented people and businesses in all types of bankruptcy matters and related litigation.

 

Ms. Youngman began her career as a bankruptcy attorney at the AmLaw 200 national law firm of Fox Rothschild, LLP, in New York, New York, where she primarily represented Chapter 7 and 11 debtors and Chapter 7 trustees. 

In 2008, Ms. Youngman returned to Florida to be closer to family and joined the bankruptcy boutique firm of Wolff, Hill, McFarlin & Herron as an associate attorney. At Wolff Hill, Ms. Youngman primarily represented Chapter 7 and 11 debtors and creditors in personal and business bankruptcy cases.

In 2010, Ms. Youngman joined the national firm of McCalla Raymer, LLC as the managing attorney of the firm's Florida Bankruptcy Department. While at McCalla, Ms. Youngman was promoted to partner and represented primarily mortgage creditors in consumer and business bankruptcy proceedings. 

In 2015, Ms. Youngman joined the Orlando office of the AmLaw 200 firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, LLP, as a partner in the firm's commercial services department. While at Wilson Elser, Ms. Youngman's practice included representing all types of creditors in commercial bankruptcy proceedings and related insolvency matters.

Ms. Youngman began the firm of Melissa Youngman PA to focus on the legal needs of Central Florida business owners who need a fresh financial start. She represents business owners in all types of bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, including personal and business Chapter 7 and 11 cases (including Subchapter V of Chapter 11). She also represents debtors in Chapter 13 cases. 

In addition to bankruptcy and insolvency matters, Ms. Youngman also provides clients with estate planning, asset protection, contract, and representation in general corporate matters.

 

Ms. Youngman is also a frequent speaker on a variety of legal topics. Representative speaking engagements include:

Ms. Youngman is committed to making a positive social impact in the Central Florida community. She has volunteered as Guardian ad Litem for the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida (Seminole County) as a Junior League member. She is currently a member of her church choir at the Catholic parish of St. Mary Magdalen in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Ms. Youngman is also committed to providing equal access to justice to Floridians by providing pro bono and low bono services in appropriate cases.
